The Melbourne Chamber of Commerce

The Melbourne Chamber of Commerce brings together Victoria’s most influential and iconic organisations, business leaders, influencers and government representatives at local, state and federal level to affect policy, exchange ideas and lead Victorian business into the future. We are an independent, professional body for medium to large organisations who want to contribute to Victoria’s success.
We offer our members opportunities to:

Our people

Dianne Smith, Executive Director

Dianne joined the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce in October 2016 after five years as the Chief Executive of Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC).

Dianne spent 25 years in the tourism industry, working in Melbourne and regional Victoria covering marketing, visitor services, policy and strategy. Her previous roles include Manager Tourism Partnerships, Parks Victoria, Executive Director, Ballarat Tourism, and Marketing and Visitor Services Manager at Melbourne Zoo. Between September 2015 and March 2016, Dianne was seconded by the Victorian Government to undertake the GM Regional role, in the transition to Visit Victoria.
Dianne has also worked in the hotel and computer industries and has a Bachelor of Economics and Politics.
She is also proud to be an Adjunct Professor, Victoria University – a role in which she can mentor young people into the industry.

Margie Stewart, Relationship Manager

Margie has enjoyed success in sales and marketing roles in the hospitality, tourism and professional services industries. She has developed and implemented successful sales and marketing strategies for new and existing businesses, and has an extensive network across a range of industries including, corporate, government, tourism, events and not-for-profit. Margie has also managed teams in both business and consumer environments with a specific focus on solution selling, customer service and building long-term strategic client relationships across multiple industry sectors.

Margie has previously chaired the Professional Development Committee for Meetings and Events Australia, the key industry body for the events industry.

Troy Wood, Relationship Manager

Troy has more than 15 years’ experience as a relationship manager working in customer roles within the recruitment and vocation education and training sectors. Prior to joining the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce, Troy managed the delivery of the Victorian government's 'Skills for Growth' program and the National Workforce Development Fund for two of Australia's largest Registered Training Organisations. In these roles, he led a team of workforce development specialists and assisted enterprises in identifying solutions to address their workforce development and general business needs.

Troy was able to link the enterprises to government-funded programs to support their business requirements.

Kim Samiotis, Membership Coordinator

Kim brings a wealth of experience in business administration to the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce team. Having commenced her career in the Real Estate industry over 15 years ago, she has accumulated valuable operational knowledge across a diversity of industry sectors including Finance, Hospitality, Property, Construction, and Sales & Marketing. This breadth of exposure allows her to challenge the status quo in business support, constantly seeking new methods and new ideas for improvement.

Kim’s experience and enthusiasm for customer service puts the member first, ensuring the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce’s valued members experience excellence across all services, events, and communications.
