In accordance with the requirements of the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 (Act), we have submitted our annual public report to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency.
Recently, we have received a number of calls from members advising us that they are being contacted by unidentified people claiming to be from ‘VECCI’ and asking businesses if they are moving. These calls are not from the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and are nuisance calls from unidentified persons using our old name as a way of getting businesses to reveal information.
We have notified the ACCC of this scam so they are aware of it and ask that you do the same if you receive one of these calls.
Tips to handle these type of calls:
Callers are identifying themselves as from ‘VECCI’; we do not use our old name when identifying ourselves when we call. All calls originating from us will be identified as calling from the Victorian Chamber of Commerce.
Ask the caller to provide your member ID. If they are unable to do so, take a note of the phone number and hang up. Please report the scam to ScamWatch and provide them with details of the call you just received.
