An Introduction to Victoria’s New Environment Protection Act - 16 September

Thursday, 16 September 9:30am - 11:00am

New environmental laws came into force in Victoria on 1 July 2021 that affect your business. Find out what you need to know.

The Environment Protection Amendment Act 2018 is the most significant change to Victoria’s environmental safety laws in a generation. All Victorian businesses and individuals have environmental responsibilities under the new laws.

Businesses now have a proactive responsibility to identify hazards and reduce the risks of environmental harm associated with their activities.

Join us for ‘An Introduction to Victoria’s New Environment Protection Amendment Act 2018’. In these free, interactive, 90-minute workshops we will discuss the new laws and how your business needs to respond to them.

Key topics we will cover include:

  • what the new laws expect of your business and how to comply,
  • your environmental duties,
  • taking a reasonably practicable approach to identifying hazards and reducing risks,
  • what to expect from the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA), and
  • the permissions framework and waste duties.

Places per workshop are limited, so we encourage you to book early to avoid missing out.

These workshops are supported by the EPA as part of the Industry Partnership Program, which enables Victorian industry associations to educate businesses about their environmental responsibilities.
