Overview

We are committed to ensuring the privacy and security of all personal information collected from members, customers, suppliers and other parties that make contact with us. This page contains details on the information classification levels used by VCCI and how the information should be stored, distributed or destroyed.

VCCI uses three information classification levels

  • Unclassified - Information for personal or non-work related purposes.
  • Proprietary - Information that relates to business activities within VCCI.
  • Restricted (Official) - Information governed by legislation (e.g. Privacy Act) that restricts its use/disclosure or VCCI business information that would lead to significant damage.

Information provided by VCCI without a classification is designated Proprietary.

Unclassified

  • Any documents that are personal
  • Private correspondence with family and friends

When information classified as Proprietary is provided from VCCI, then the information is available for use within your organisation. Please contact VCCI if you would like to diseminate the information beyond your organisation or retain beyond 5 years.

Restricted (Official)

Information governed by legislation (e.g. Privacy Act) that restricts its use/disclosure or VCCI business information that would lead to significant damage.  Examples of ‘Restricted (Official)’ information include:
