Help us shape the 2021-22 Budget agenda and the future of Victoria

The Victorian Chamber is working on our submission to the 2021-22 Victorian State Budget and we want to hear what you and your business need to keep moving Victoria forward.

After a tough 2020-21, it is exciting to be looking ahead and thinking about ways that the Victorian Chamber (VCCI) can advocate on your behalf for the upcoming financial year.

We believe the upcoming financial year and the 2021-22 State Budget provide the perfect opportunity for policy and decision makers to build upon the previous budget and further invest in existing and new industries. Our submission will provide that vital link between industry and government to ensure every voice is heard.

In order to understand the most important areas for economic recovery as determined by the business community, we have prepared a short four-question preliminary survey asking you to:

  • Prioritise the areas of the economy you think the budgets need to focus on
  • Select a preference between tax reform and industry support
  • Assess the confidence levels of your business based on the COVID-19 vaccine rolling out

To participate in the survey please click the link below. The survey will take around three minutes to complete.

Though VCCI was largely pleased with the level of support both the 2020-21 State and Federal budgets offered for businesses during the COVID-19 shutdown period, we would like to see efforts bolstered to ensure that no business is left behind.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, VCCI worked diligently to have government support programs expanded and ease eligibility requirements that were too restrictive or not conducive to allowing businesses to get access.

Through member consultation we were able to identify the most vulnerable industry sectors which received the least amount of government funding throughout the pandemic. These insights are vital to ensuring the upcoming budgets do not allow these sectors to be overlooked.

Thank you for your support and input.
