Entertainment

The $30 million Victorian Entertainment Program encourages people to seek out the state’s world-class entertainment experiences to support the industry after the Omicron wave.

From Tuesday 29 March, customers can claim a rebate of 25 per cent of their purchase when they spend $40 or more on eligible entertainment experiences including cinemas, live performances, museums, galleries, amusement parks, zoos and more.

Rebates can be claimed for entertainment experiences anywhere in Melbourne and Victoria attended on any day of the week.

Dining

The Victorian Dining Program also has a fund of $30 million and offers customers a 25 per cent rebate on dining bills of $40 or more between Monday and Thursday in hospitality venues anywhere in Victoria outside of the City of Melbourne municipality.

The rebate is not available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday dining.

This program is similar to Midweek Melbourne Money, which has been offering rebates on dining in the City of Melbourne.

Information for businesses

Businesses don’t have to register to be part of the program.

If your business or venue is eligible for the program, your customers can claim a rebate when provided a printed or electronic itemised tax receipt or invoice. The receipt must include a trading name, ABN, date and total spent (including GST).

Claims for the Dining program open at 10am on Tuesday 29 March and the Entertainment program at 3pm on Tuesday 29 March.

Individuals can claim a maximum of $125, with rebates available on a first-come-first-served basis until the funds are exhausted.
