The Victorian Chamber will be targeting specific industry sectors for input from members over the coming weeks as it forms its policy and advocacy priorities in the lead-up to the State Election in November.

Victorian Government organisations are responsible for their own buying, spending billions of dollars on goods, works and services. Invitations to supply may be through:

  • Direct invitations
  • Open tenders
  • Selection from an established panel
  • Selection from a register of pre-qualified suppliers
  • Public private partnerships
  • Government procurement is a driver of business growth and employment in key sectors.

It’s crucial for us to hear from members about what would help improve the procurement system and make it more accessible for smaller businesses.

The Chamber would like to receive responses to questions such as:

  • What are the biggest challenges for businesses engaging with the Victorian procurement system?
  • What should be done to improve Victoria’s procurement system?
  • How can small businesses be supported to engage with Victoria’s procurement system more?
  • What can the Victorian Government do to improve the procurement system?

To provide your thoughts, discuss this further or arrange a meeting, please contact the Victorian Chamber’s Policy and Advocacy team at policy@victorianchamber.com.au before Monday 27 June, 2022.

In the coming weeks we are issuing consultation callouts to discuss Victoria’s:
