Our recent survey of members found that strong economic management and leadership was the number one priority business would like to see tackled by the next Australian Government. This was closely followed by strategic investment in infrastructure and business tax relief.

Keeping spending in check, lowering red tape and providing strategic support to business and industry are all measures that can be implemented to provide the business community with effective economic management and certainty.

Modern and reliable road, rail port and digital infrastructure is critical to the productivity and liveability of our state. A clear plan for developing Victoria’s infrastructure is essential, and it is important that future infrastructure investment decisions are long term, apolitical and based on thorough analysis.

Governments can also help ease the pressures of rising business operating costs through sensible tax reform that maximises growth, efficiency and productivity.

As we all know well, these are the issues that impact on Victorian business every day. It is vital that the next Australian Government backs business by committing to practical reforms that will help create an environment where we have the confidence to invest, grow and create more jobs.
