Victoria’s business productivity depends on a modern and reliable transport system that allows freight to move efficiently and people to get wherever they need to go easily.

Victoria currently has a number of major transport projects underway to achieve just that and the 2016-17 state budget delivered funding for key transport infrastructure including Melbourne Metro Rail and the Western Distributor.

Projects like these will bring significant benefits to business, not only through new job opportunities during construction, but through the ultimate cuts to travel times and reduced congestion.

The 8th Annual Victorian Transport Infrastructure Conference, taking place in Melbourne this month, will give businesses the opportunity to learn more about the state’s growing pipeline of transport infrastructure projects.

More than 200 project managers, operators, contractors, consultants and investors are expected to attend the conference, and the program includes presentations on Melbourne Metro Rail, Western Distributor Project and Level Crossings Removal Project.

Projects like these play a vital role in improving our state’s liveability, easing the cost of doing business, creating thousands of jobs and increasing the capacity of our transport systems.

As well as project information and updates, the conference will feature a panel discussion about the future of transportation, including ride sharing, autonomous driving technology and drones in transportation; ministerial addresses from Hon.
