The purpose of the Summit is to develop an agenda and accompanying recommendations that will spur economic growth and lift business investment and job creation. It has a clear focus on identifying and prioritising the business agenda for the next State election, and communicating the business community’s needs to our decision makers.

The main Summit event, featuring over 100 of Victoria’s business leaders, was held at Parliament House, Melbourne, on Thursday 23 November 2017.

The Victoria Summit examined four themes integral to Victoria’s continued economic success:

• Energy and resources - encompassing energy prices, natural gas supplies, emissions reduction and renewable energy.
• Liveability and the visitor economy - addressing challenges in infrastructure, population growth and visitation.
• Small business and jobs - including taxation, regulation reform, education and training and business support.
• The regional agenda - decentralisation, regional infrastructure and regional economic development.
