This new WorkSafe Victoria-approved course has a special focus on work-related violence and incident and risk management processes. Work-related violence can happen in any industry, but is more likely to occur in the health, youth services, education, law enforcement, retail, hospitality, security, cash-handling, finance and banking industries.
This course is offered as an alternative to the standard HSR Refresher Course 1.
During this course you will increase your knowledge of:
- HSR powers and entitlements
- Risk management
- The importance of hazard and incident reporting
- Effective consultation
- Work related violence
- Incident investigation and management
Under the OHS Act (section 67) all elected HSRs and deputy HSRs who have completed an initial training are entitled to attend refresher training for each year they hold the position and choose their training provider in consultation with their employer.
This course is part of the Health and Safety representative pathway designed to give HSRs the skills, knowledge and confidence to represent their designated work group and to help make their workplace safer.
