Don’t miss the opportunity to gain a competitive edge for your business and break into a lucrative market.

For the first time since before COVID-19, the Victorian Chamber is offering an opportunity to travel overseas to participate in a trade program tailored to your business.

Together with Taiwan’s largest international trade body, the Importers and Exporters Association of Taipei (IEAT), this program offers exclusive business matching opportunities and learning experiences.

Past programs

In 2018 the Victorian Chamber held a successful program in China, which was followed by a Virtual program for Vietnam during travel restrictions.

The Jiangsu Business Placement Program for an intensive tailored program of workshops, networking and industry placements.

Sealane Food Service Managing Director Shun King Li said at the time: “If you do have interest in expanding your business and do something overseas, and not limited to one country it’s a good time to start using the program to understand about the regulations, the protocol, the culture – it’s all different to what we do here.”

Brau Enterprises Director Nabil Assad added: “A lot of times you can travel to a country and meet purchasing managers but you don’t meet the decision maker. This gave us the ability to meet decision-makers which is really good”.

During COVID, the Victorian Chamber, with support from Vietnam Economic Strategy Team of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, launched Vietnam on the Map.

The program comprised a five-module series outlining Vietnam market fundamentals, market entry strategy and options, regulatory compliance and export logistics, selling to Vietnamese consumers, and business culture, etiquette and negotiations.

Taiwan

Participants of the 2023 Taiwan program, to start in late October, can expect to:

  • Learn the negotiation and cultural skills needed to do business in Taiwan
  • Obtain first-hand market intelligence and experience
  • Meet new contacts and develop relationships
  • Conduct business like a local, removing the barriers to business.

Your tailored program itinerary will be designed based on extensive research and planning and will deliver connections with importers and distributors.

Victorian Chamber International Business Development Manager Eddie Zhao said: “The program helps businesses build skills, gain first-hand market intelligence and experience, and benefit from contacts and relationships developed over decades that money couldn’t otherwise buy.

“This one-of-a-kind program will connect you to the contacts you need to do business in Taiwan.”
