The Victorian Chamber is committed to helping business thrive and advancing local interests in Asian markets.

According to Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Australia exported about $475 billion worth of goods and services worldwide in 2019-20, remaining steady with previous years despite disruptions to supply chains due to COVID-19.

Asia continues to dominate Australia’s two-way trade with 65.2 per cent of the market. China remains our major two-way trading partner. Japan, Republic of Korea and ASEAN also offer significant market opportunities for Australian businesses especially as these economies rebound from COVID-19.

On 27 October 2022, the Chamber will host a mini tradeshow where businesses can showcase products and network with other business people to explore export opportunities to the vibrant Asian markets.

The event aims to connect Australian manufacturers and suppliers with Asian buyers who are interested in their products, creating networking opportunities and business relationships.

It will also enable Asian buyers to meet with a variety of Australian companies, leading to business offerings, relationships and export opportunities.

This event will be a meeting point for:

  • Sellers: Australian manufacturers, suppliers, exporters of food, beverages and consumer goods. The common theme is interest in entering new markets or extending reach.
  • Buyers: International buyers looking for Australian products/services for export to the Asian countries.
  • General attendees: Businesses wanting to enhance their trade, business and investment opportunities in domestic and international markets.

Victorian Chamber of Commerce International Business Development Manager Eddie Zhao said: Buyer and seller interaction has always been the most important components in the international trade. Engaging Asian buyers based locally in Melbourne through this event is a great opportunity to grow your exports in the new or existing markets.

When Buyer Met Seller will be held on 27 October 2022 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Drinks and canapes will be served throughout the evening. More information and registration can be accessed via the event page.

If your company is interesting in becoming an exhibitor in this event, please contact Eddie Zhao on ezhao@victorinachamber.com.au or 0401 695 147.
