The Victorian Government has launched a review of regulation impacting on small businesses in the retail sector and wants to know about your experiences.

Led by the Minister for Small Business, Innovation and Trade, the Hon Philip Dalidakis MP, the review is the first of three to be held over the next two years examining red tape impacting small businesses across three sectors of the state’s economy.

The retail sector has been selected as the first. Retail is Victoria’s largest employer and fourth highest contributor to our state’s economy. With small business making up 95 per cent of our retail sector, the review provides an important opportunity to highlight the red tape issues that have a significant impact on your day-to-day operations.

Cutting red tape and reducing the regulatory burden on small business is a priority for the Victorian Chamber and we encourage members to help identify regulatory issues of most concern.

An issues paper has been developed to canvas the views of small business retailers and provide an opportunity to put forward solutions. Based on your input, the Victorian Government will develop a proposed package of reforms aimed at saving small business retailers time and money.
