The $90 million funding, to be included in the 2017-18 State Budget and building on $116 million funding in 2016-17, will create and retain jobs in priority industries like manufacturing and aviation by targeting global investors and innovators to do business in Victoria.

Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chief Executive Mark Stone AM congratulated the Victorian Government on securing Rinnai Australia’s new Braeside manufacturing hub, officially launched today.

“We are pleased to see additional commitment to Victoria’s reputation as a great place to live and work. We know that many global businesses are coming to Victoria to do business, and this is producing jobs for Victorians,” he said.

“Rinnai has already secured more than 370 existing jobs and created 160 new manufacturing jobs in Melbourne’s south east which will provide opportunities for ex-automotive workers. With other global names like Square, Slack, GoPro, and Chinese online trader Alibaba also setting up their regional headquarters in Melbourne, Victoria is clearly attracting many of the world’s brightest and best as a place to do business.”
