“This is the largest, most ambitious and exciting construction projects ever undertaken by the City of Stonnington,” said Cr Stefanopoulos.

“Stonnington Council is proud to be involved in delivering urgently needed open space for people who live, work and visit this vibrant shopping and entertainment district.”

Prahran Square is set to become an iconic cultural and recreational destination for residents, shoppers and visitors to Stonnington, with a selection of spaces - from those for quiet contemplation to those designed to stage vibrant community events.

The Square will be a place for relaxation, recreation, events, festivals and markets while the car park below adds 20 per cent more parking spaces to service the popular Chapel and Greville street precincts.

Construction started in January 2018 and is on schedule to be completed with the opening of the car park in the next few weeks and the parkland official opening in the next few months.
