There was no better way to kickstart spring than having the State Government lift the work-from-home recommendations and the introduction of shorter isolation requirements for COVID-positive patients and those in low-risk settings.

The Federal Government’s Jobs and Skills Summit in Canberra has adopted a number of recommendations contained in a joint Victorian communique by business, universities and other key industry and sector groups.

Well, it’s been quite a week! Today is the start of the Federal Government’s Jobs and Skills Summit in Canberra.

The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has put forward recommendations to the Jobs and Skills Summit to build a skilled workforce for the future, increase labour participation and boost productivity.

The Victorian Chamber, together with key business and industry and education leaders, have presented our State’s business position in a communique to the Premier to take to the Federal Government’s Jobs and Skills Summit beginning in Canberra tomorrow.

I don’t know about you, but it does seem like there is a lot going on at the moment. I’ve been to a fantastic meeting with members in Mildura, and also managed to get to Canberra and back for a series of meetings with the Australian Chamber in the lead up to the Jobs and Skills Summit.

Next month’s Jobs and Skills Summit in Canberra shapes as a generational opportunity to address the most important issue facing Australia’s economy.  An opportunity that, if tackled properly, can transform not just the way we work but set us up for global success for generations to come.
