54-day late unfair dismissal application accepted

An unfair dismissal claim lodged 54 days out of time has been accepted by the Fair Work Commission (Commission) after finding the employee’s initial representative’s ‘apparent carelessness’ in lodging a Notice of Discontinuance (Notice) without the employee’s authority, resulted in ‘unusual and extraordinary’ circumstances.
