Is your business facing skills shortages?

28 February 2019

Did you know there is a list of occupations specific to Victoria that are eligible for visa applications?

Victoria has a Visa Nomination Occupation List that specifies which Victorian occupations and skill levels are eligible for visa nominations under the Skilled Nominated subclass 190 visa and Skilled Regional subclass 489 (Provisional) visa.

The State Government is currently reviewing this list and seeking input on what type of vacancies businesses are struggling to fill and therefore should be eligible for visas.

If you would like to provide input you can complete an online survey or provide a written submission. Please visit Engage Victoria to provide your input before 18 March 2019.

Skills shortages are an ongoing focus for the Victorian Chamber’s advocacy activities. If you would like to share your experiences and further inform the Victorian Chamber’s policy and advocacy work, please contact Katherine Smith, Manger, Industry Policy at policy@victorianchamber.com.au.
