The GSC DAMA provides the regions employers with a further recruitment option in addressing critical skills shortages. The program has an ‘Australians First’ policy where employers must demonstrate genuine recruitment activities nationally before requesting a labour agreement with the Department of Home Affairs through a DAMA. The GSC DAMA approved occupations list is currently at 27 and can be viewed at gscdama.warrnambool.vic.gov.au although others are being considered in consultation with industry and local councils.

If your industry or organisation operates within the Great Southern Coast and you wish to discuss occupations you find it difficult to recruit, please e-mail Stephen Hoy (GSC DAMA Coordinator) shoy@warrnambool.vic.gov.au
