A panel of AFLW stars Meg McDonald, Kerryn Peterson (nee Harrington), and Brianna Davey joined Fox Footy presenter, Sarah Jones, for a lively discussion on the AFL Women’s League and the challenges and highlights of their careers.

The league and players were congratulated for completing season seven ahead of the second AFLW Grand Final this year.

Victorian Chamber Chief Executive Paul Guerra said: “It’s been a mighty effort to turn a season around so quickly after the last one and there’s no doubt the AFLW continues to go from strength to strength.

“Our AFLW players are not only superb athletes but tremendous role models and an inspiration to a generation of young girls who are now playing our great game in greater numbers than ever before.”

The Premiership Cup was presented by Cup Ambassador Abbey Holmes, who played in the inaugural AFLW season and has made a seamless transition into commentary since finishing playing

The head of AFLW Nicole Livingstone also spoke about the league’s development in a season which saw four new clubs – Essendon, Hawthorn, Port Adelaide and the Sydney Swans – enter the league.

Brisbane and Melbourne will play in the 2022 NAB AFLW Grand Final this Sunday, November 27 at Brighton Homes Arena. The game will be broadcast live on Channel 7.
