On 23 April 2024, the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations released the outcomes of the Request for Tender (RFT) for Australian Apprenticeship Support Services 2024-26. The new suite of Support Services commences from 1 July 2024.

As a result of the announcement, ASA will continue to provide free quality end-to-end advice and assistance, ensuring a clear understanding for apprentices and employers on how to access quality support when needed throughout their apprenticeship or traineeship.

Last year ASA celebrated 25 years of Victorian apprenticeship support, strengthening the Australian workforce with 1.2 million registered apprenticeships and traineeships since 1998.

ASA will leverage that experience to to further improve retention, completion and satisfaction rates for apprentices and their employers.

Victorian Chamber Chief Executive Paul Guerra said: Minister for Skills and Training Brendan O’Connor’s recognition of our demonstrated capabilities and track record is obvious from the trust the Government has placed in us.

“I’m proud of how our team performs in this area. Our mentoring capability is excellent and our care for both the apprentice and the employer is paramount, ensuring that the path for apprentices is available, easy to engage, and ultimately delivers high-quality end-to-end advice and support.”

ASA Executive Director Kristian McCarthy said: “Apprenticeships and traineeship play a vital role in the Australian Vocational Educational and Training system. They contribute significantly to the Australian economy by bridging the gap between individuals career aspirations and employer’s skills requirements.

“These apprenticeships provide opportunities for people to receive training, pursue studies and earn an income across a diverse range of occupations. ASA is proud to be a national contributor to this vital system.”

In the meantime, it is business as usual, and if you are an employer hiring an apprentice or trainee, contact our ASA team with any enquiries.
