Victorian Chamber partner with LGPro to support women in rural councils

Society benefits when we invest in women. Pursuing gender equity in local government is critical to ensuring the societal structures our communities rely upon are representative of the people within those municipalities. While 55% of all local government employees are women, only 16% and 34% are in the position of Chief Executive Officer and Director respectively. By correcting this imbalance, it is hoped Victorian councils will achieve the benefits of appointing and promoting women to positions of leadership within their organisations.
