Applications are now open for the WorkWell Respect Fund, which will support large-scale projects and initiatives with grants of between $500,000 and $1 million each.

The fund is being launched alongside the WorkWell Respect Network, which will bring workplaces together through events and learning opportunities to share knowledge to better prevent and respond to gendered violence at work.

Work-related gendered violence includes any behaviour that affects the health and safety of someone because of their gender, sexual orientation, or because they don’t conform to gender stereotypes.

It can include sexual harassment, stalking, verbal abuse, unwelcome comments or gestures, or threats of physical violence and can involve colleagues, supervisors, clients or customers.

The WorkWell Respect Fund provides eligible organisations with opportunities to develop innovative projects and initiatives to prevent work-related gendered violence including sexual harassment. It aims to:

  • support projects that treat work-related gendered violence including sexual harassment as an occupational health and safety issue
  • create system and industry-wide change to prevent work-related gendered violence including sexual harassment in Victorian workplaces
  • trial innovative solutions that create workplace cultures of respect
  • tailor solutions to ensure the unique characteristics and challenges facing workers from different industries are addressed
  • increase workplace knowledge and understanding of work-related gendered violence including sexual harassment, so that duty holders are aware of their responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (2004)
  • share project learnings and provide practical ideas and resources to support employers and workplace leaders reduce the risk of work-related gendered violence including sexual harassment in Victorian workplaces.

Applications for the WorkWell Respect Fund and tenders to lead the WorkWell Respect Network close on Friday, 19 May. To apply visit worksafe.vic.gov.au.
