Jointly funded by the Cities of Sydney, North Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and other smaller local government councils, CitySwitch simplifies and structures the journey towards net zero greenhouse gas emissions for office-based businesses.

CitySwitch has more than 500 signatories around Australia, comprising predominantly office-based businesses from sectors including finance, legal, engineering, advertising, architecture, and health.

Businesses that join can include those who are beginning their journey or have already displayed leadership in the net-zero space.

The program also provides free online resources, networking and educational events, guidance from a local program manager and a 50 per cent discount on the administration fee of National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS) ratings.

Services to members are delivered by local program managers with understanding of local business context, while program resources and campaigns are delivered by a national program office.

Businesses wanting to engage should operate primarily from a commercial office space and must commit to conditions including measuring baseline greenhouse gas emissions (minimum scope 1 and scope 2 within the first 12 months) and annual online progress reporting to review your performance and get feedback on your progress.
