Preventing and responding to occupational violence

Employers whose staff are potentially exposed to occupational violence (OV) have a legal obligation to identify OV hazards and reduce the risks associated with them.

Many employers continue to struggle with this complex topic, running the risk of serious workplace injuries, spiralling workers’ compensation costs and poor internal culture.

During this discussion, Lauren Heatley, Health Safety and Wellbeing Consultant and Anton Zytnik, Manager, Health Safety and Wellbeing will discuss Lauren’s work experience as a mental health nurse and her thoughts on how employers can build and maintain physically and psychologically safe workplaces by reducing the risk of OV and providing effective post-incident support.
