Held every two years, the WCC, known as the ‘business Olympics’, is a unique thought leadership forum for chamber leaders and business professionals to collaborate on new projects, exchange ideas on best-practices, expand global networks and discuss the latest issues facing the private sector worldwide.

The Victorian Chamber, in partnership with the Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB), secured the co-organising committee rights to the 2025 event.

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services is co-organising in 2023 with a theme of “Achieving peace and prosperity through multilateralism”.

The three-day event will cover areas of trade, innovation, sustainability, multilateralism, diversity and peace. The daily key themes are:

  • Demystifying multilateralism
  • Innovation for everyone, by everyone
  • Future-proof sustainability.

The Victorian Chamber will send a small delegation to present and participate in the ‘handover’ formalities and host an information booth to promote the 2025 WCC in Melbourne. The delegation will be led by President Adrian Kloeden and Chief Executive Paul Guerra.

Another well-known speaker to Australian audiences will be Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Prior to his appointment to the OECD, Mathias served as the Australian Minister for Finance, the Leader of the Government in the Australian Senate and as Federal Senator representing the State of Western Australia.

Vincent Subilia, General Director, Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services and #13WCC co-organiser said:As an elected member of the General Council of ICC’s World Chambers Federation, where I am proud to represent the Swiss Chambers of Commerce, it is my duty and my pleasure to work, with my colleagues, to improve economic conditions around the globe, notably through international commercial relations.

“I am convinced that the Swiss business community will greatly benefit from coming into close contact with the delegates and businesses of the vibrant community of the Chambers of commerce who, in their turn, will be afforded the unique opportunity to leveraging the expertise of international Geneva.”

The Victorian Chamber will report key takeaways from the 13th WCC in Geneva in June.

For members who wish to attend, more information and registration can be found via the Geneva 2023 page. Apart from key panel discussions and idea exchanges, delegates will have ample opportunity to network, including through an exhibition space, gala dinner and a Competition Award Ceremony on the final evening.
