How Jessica Sepel built a business empire

With an ever-increasing focus on wellness and lifestyle post-pandemic, Ms Sepel shared her journey from a struggling start-up just five years ago to a social media superstar and owner of one of the fastest-growing companies in Australia.

She said JSHealth was a passion project about empowering people to give up dieting, nourish their bodies, and find balance with food and fitness for life. “I built a community before I built a company. People were resonating and people were connecting,” she said.

“One project fed and financially took care of the next project. You have to be extraordinary nimble – I kept focused on my vision to help women live a healthy life and kept adjusting my goals according to that.”

Ms Sepel admitted the “journey of business is gruelling. Failings are meant to be there” but credited those moments and the team behind her for her business success.

Since starting in 2018 following the rising success and popularity from Ms Sepel’s blog posts, JSHealth now includes a dedicated app, an eight-week wellness program and bestselling range of supplement formulas, topical vitamin-infused skincare and haircare, plant protein range and marine collagen collection.

She is now planning her global takeover as the brand grows across Britain, the United States, and throughout Asia.

Victorian Chamber Chief Executive Paul Guerra congratulated Ms Sepel: “I was in London recently and while I was walking down the street I happened to be given a flyer for JS Health – which just goes to show how far your reach has grown in a relatively short time.”

“How you built such an incredible business is an inspiring story.”

The Victorian Chamber’s annual women in business luncheon coincided with the conclusion of this year’s inaugural Chamber Change program, aimed at helping women in business mentor, network, empower and grow alongside each other.

Female participants in the inaugural Chamber Change program say the initiative by the Victorian Chamber has increased their networks, benefited their organisations and set them up for business success.

More information on Chamber Change is available on the program page.
